What is the difference between balayage and ombré?
Balayage is a freehand painting technique that creates soft, natural-looking highlights with seamless blending throughout the hair. Ombré is a gradient effect that transitions distinctly from dark at the roots to light at the ends. Both techniques are beautiful — your stylist will help you choose based on your goals and hair type during your consultation.
How long does a balayage appointment take?
A full balayage service typically takes 3 to 4 hours from start to finish, including consultation, application, processing time, toning, and blowout styling. For longer or thicker hair, additional time may be needed. We recommend scheduling ample time for your first balayage visit.
How often do I need to maintain my balayage?
One of the biggest advantages of balayage is its low-maintenance grow-out. Most clients refresh their balayage every 3 to 5 months, depending on how much contrast they prefer between roots and ends. A toner refresh appointment can be done every 6 to 8 weeks to keep the tone looking fresh between full services.
